Hail Damage Repair in Signal Hill

Hail leaves marks that are easy to miss from the ground and easy to overstate in a sales pitch. We get on your roof, photograph what the hail actually did and tell you plainly whether it needs repair. When it does, we fix it with materials matched to your home.

What hail does to a roof

Hail seldom punches straight through. What it usually leaves on composition shingles is a bruise: a small dent that fractures the fiberglass mat and scatters the mineral grit that keeps sunlight from drying the shingle out. On tile, the impact cracks corners and edges where the material is thinnest. The roof may not leak for months. Then sun and the next winter rains find the weak spots.

Because hail is uncommon around Signal Hill, many homeowners never think to check after a storm. A free roof inspection settles the question. We tell you what we found, what caused it and what your options are. Sometimes the answer is that nothing needs doing, and we will say so.

We are a GAF Certified Contractor. When hail-bruised shingles do need replacing, we install the new ones to GAF's own specifications, so the repair is built the same careful way as a full roof.

What our hail damage repair covers

A photo record you keep
We photograph each impact, the damaged slopes and any dents in metal. The photos come to you, whether or not you hire us.
Shingle and tile replacement
We replace bruised shingles or cracked tiles one by one, matching color, profile and exposure as closely as the market allows. Where a match is not available, we explain the choices before any work starts.
Vents, flashing and soft metals
Hail dents roof vents, pipe jacks and flashing. We check whether a dent is cosmetic or whether it has opened a seam that will let water in, and replace only what is compromised.
Gutters and downspouts
Dented or split gutters slow drainage and push water back toward the fascia. We repair or replace sections as part of the same job; our Gutters page covers full replacements.
Help with your insurance claim
We work directly with your insurance claim. We share our photos and line-item scope with your adjuster and can meet them on the roof. The adjuster decides coverage. Our job is to show clearly what we found.

Signs hail may have damaged your roof

  • Granules in the gutters

A sandy buildup at the downspouts after a storm means shingles lost part of their protective surface.

  • Dents on metal around the house

Look at gutters, downspouts, AC fins and mailboxes. If hail dented them, it struck the roof at the same force.

  • Cracked or chipped tile

Broken tile corners or loose pieces in the yard point to impacts. Tile can crack without moving, so the gap is not always visible from below.

  • Dark spots on shingles

Bruises show up as dark, round marks where granules are gone. Some feel soft when pressed, which means the mat underneath is fractured.

  • New stains after the next rain

A ceiling mark weeks after a hailstorm often traces back to a cracked tile or split shingle. Our Roof Leak Repair page covers what happens once water is inside.

How a hail repair job runs

  1. 1

    A short phone call

Tell us when the storm passed and what you have noticed. We set a time for a free inspection, in English or Spanish.

  2. 2

    The roof inspection

We walk each slope, check every penetration and look at the gutters and metal. You get photos and a plain account of what hail did and what it did not do.

  3. 3

    A written estimate

You receive a free written estimate with each item listed. If you are filing a claim, the same scope goes to your adjuster.

  4. 4

    Repair day

We cover plantings, keep debris off your driveway and replace only what the scope calls for. Before we leave, we sweep the yard with a magnet and walk the finished work with you.

What moves the cost of hail repair

Most hail repair prices come down to how much of the roof was hit and what it is made of. We give you a written figure before work begins, and nothing is added without your say. Financing is available through Service Finance Company, subject to credit approval.

How widespread the damage is
A few cracked tiles on one slope is a small job. Bruising across several slopes can make replacing those slopes more sensible than patching dozens of spots.
Your roofing material
Concrete and clay tile cost more per piece and take more care to lift and reset. Discontinued shingle colors may need a closer search for a match.
What sits underneath
If water has already reached the underlayment or decking, those layers need attention too. We show you photos before adding them to the scope.
Insurance coverage and your deductible
When a claim is approved, your out-of-pocket share depends on your policy. We explain the scope; your insurer sets the coverage.

Hail damage questions

Something not covered here? (562) 662-7493

Does hail damage always mean a new roof?

No. Most hail damage we see is limited to certain slopes or a handful of tiles, and a repair handles it. A new roof makes sense only when bruising is widespread or the roof was near the end of its life anyway. Our Roof Replacement page covers that path.

Should I call my insurer before or after an inspection?

Having us inspect first is usually simpler. You learn whether there is real damage before opening a claim, and you have photos ready if you file. If you have already filed, we can still inspect and share our findings with your adjuster.

Hail is rare here. Is it really worth checking?

That rarity is the reason to check. Bruised shingles and hairline tile cracks do not leak right away, so they go unnoticed until the next season of rain. The inspection is free, and if the roof is fine, we tell you that.

Can you match my existing shingles or tile?

Usually, yes. We look for the same manufacturer, color and profile first. When an exact match is gone, we bring samples of the closest options so you can see them against your roof before deciding.

Is this different from your storm damage repair?

Hail is one kind of storm damage, with its own signs: bruising, granule loss, cracked tile and dented metal. Wind lifts and tears shingles instead. If your storm brought both, our Storm Damage Repair work covers the full picture in one visit.
