ServicesStorm Damage Repair
Storm Damage Repair in Signal Hill
After a hard wind or a long rain, we check your roof from ridge to gutter, photograph every problem and tell you plainly what the storm caused, what it didn't and what the repair involves. You get a written estimate before any work begins.

What Storm Repair Covers, and When It Makes Sense
Storm damage is usually specific: a run of shingles with broken seal strips, a few tiles knocked loose at the hip, flashing pulled back at a chimney, a gutter bent away from the fascia. Most of it can be repaired without replacing the roof. Our job is to separate what the storm did from wear that was already there, because your insurer will ask the same question.
Winter storms here tend to bring wind first and steady rain after, so a lifted shingle or a slipped tile often shows up later as a stain on the ceiling. We look for both the opening and the water that followed it.
If the damage is spread across most of the roof, or the roof was near the end of its life before the storm, we will say so and walk you through replacement as an option. If a repair will hold, that is what we recommend.
What the Work Includes
- Every slope, not just the obvious spot
- Along with the area you noticed from the ground, we go over the ridges, the valleys and each pipe and vent on the roof. Each problem is recorded in dated photos, some up close and some wide enough to show where it sits on your home.
- Temporary protection when needed
- If an opening is letting water in, we cover it properly with secured tarping so the decking stays dry until the permanent repair is scheduled.
- Shingle and tile repair
- Wind-lifted asphalt shingles are replaced and sealed so they lie flat again. Cracked or displaced clay and concrete tiles are reset or replaced, and we check the underlayment beneath them before closing it up.
- Flashing, vents and edges
- Storms work on the weak points first. We refasten or replace bent flashing, damaged vent boots and loose drip edge so water has no easy path in.
- Gutters and downspouts
- Gutters pulled away or crushed by debris are rehung or replaced. Our gutters page covers larger runs and full replacements.
- Insurance documentation
- We work directly with your insurance claim, providing photos, measurements and a line-item scope your adjuster can follow. The adjuster makes the coverage decision; we make sure the roof facts are clear.
Signs Your Roof Took Storm Damage
Shingles in the yard
Pieces of shingle, tile fragments or granules collected near downspouts mean something on the roof moved or broke.
Creased or flapping shingles
A shingle that was lifted by wind and dropped back often has a crease near the top. It may look flat from the street but no longer seals.
New ceiling stains
A brown ring or soft spot that appears after rain points to an opening above. Our roof leak repair page explains how we trace it.
Tiles out of line
Tiles that have slid, cracked or lifted at the edges leave the underlayment exposed to sun and water.
Sagging or loose gutters
Gutters pulled from the fascia can let water run behind them and into the roof edge.
How a Storm Repair Runs
- 1
Inspection
We come out, inspect the whole roof and attic where it's accessible, and take photos. Service is available in English and Spanish.
- 2
Straight findings and a written estimate
We show you the photos, explain what the storm caused and what was pre-existing, and give you a free written estimate with each repair listed.
- 3
Insurance, if you file
If you open a claim, we share our documentation with your adjuster and can be on site for their visit. You decide whether to file; we tell you honestly whether the damage looks worth a claim.
- 4
Repair day
We protect landscaping and walkways, make the repairs with materials matched as closely as possible to your existing roof, and seal every opening before we leave.
- 5
Cleanup and a record of the work
Before we pack up, broken material is hauled off and a rolling magnet picks up stray nails from the lawn and drive. You then receive pictures of the completed repair to keep with your home records.

What Moves the Cost of Storm Repair
Most storm repairs are priced by how much of the roof is affected and what is found once damaged material comes off. We give you a written estimate before work starts and tell you right away if hidden damage changes the scope. Financing is available through Service Finance Company, subject to credit approval.
- How much area is damaged
- A handful of shingles at one ridge is a small job. Damage across several slopes means more material and labor.
- Roofing material
- Clay and concrete tile take more care to remove and reset than asphalt shingles, and matching an older tile profile can take sourcing time.
- Condition underneath
- If water reached the decking, soft or delaminated plywood has to be replaced before new roofing goes on.
- Height and how we reach the work
- A steep pitch or a two-story home calls for more fall protection and slower, careful movement on the roof. Narrow passages between houses make it harder to stage material, which adds labor time.
Storm Damage Questions
Something not covered here? (562) 662-7493
Do I contact my insurer before I contact you?
The order is up to you. Many homeowners prefer to have us look at the roof first, since the photos and findings show whether the damage is likely large enough to justify a claim. If you then decide to file, we pass our documentation along to your adjuster.
How do you tell storm damage from normal wear?
Storm damage is sudden and directional, like creased shingles on the windward slope or freshly broken tile edges. Wear shows up as even granule loss, brittle shingles or old cracked sealant everywhere. We point out which is which in the photos so you and your adjuster see the same thing.
Will the repair match the rest of my roof?
We match shingle color and tile profile as closely as current products allow. On older roofs a perfect match isn't always possible, and we'll show you samples before we start so there are no surprises.
Does it matter that you are a GAF Certified Contractor?
We are a GAF Certified Contractor, and that matters most when storm damage is widespread enough that a new roof is the sensible answer. It means we install GAF roofing systems the way the manufacturer specifies. For small repairs, what counts is careful work and the right materials.
What if the inspection turns up hail damage too?
Hail leaves its own pattern of bruised shingles and dented metal. We note it in the same report, and our hail damage repair page explains how those repairs differ.
